In her work, Lena Baker incorporates genuine Martian dust, sourced from meteorites that originated on Mars. This rare material, collected by cutting meteorites into smaller pieces, brings a tangible connection to the Red Planet. By blending this extraterrestrial element with impressionistic renderings of Mars’ stunning landscapes, Baker bridges the realms of science and art, offering viewers a unique opportunity to experience the cosmos through a visceral, visual medium.
